BUCKS COUNTY, PA — Two people were killed in separate storm-related accidents on Lower Bucks County highways over the past few days.

Authorities reported that a driver was killed in a two-vehicle crash in Middletown Township on Sunday night, while the driver of a tanker truck was killed after it overturned on a ramp to Route 1 early Monday morning.

The driver lost control of a tanker truck that overturned off the ramp from eastbound Interstate 276 going onto Route 1 in Trevose just before 1 a.m. on Monday, authorities said.

Authorities said a male driver was later pronounced dead after being trapped inside, after the truck had landed on its side down an embankment.

At 6:05 p.m. on Sunday, the Middletown Township Police Department responded to Veterans Highway in the area of the Hong Luck restaurant in Levittown for a report of a two-vehicle crash.

Police officers found a white Genesis GV80 and a brown Range Rover involved in the crash, with the Genesis driving southbound on Veterans Highway and the Range Rover heading northbound.

Police said the Genesis lost control and entered the northbound lane, hitting the Range Rover and then rolling onto its roof.

The driver of the Genesis was killed, police said. Police did not release the names and genders of the victims.

The driver and passenger of the Range Rover remained on the scene and were cooperating with police.

The Middletown Township Police Department is investigating the cause of the crash.

Anyone who witnessed the crash or has video of it should contact Police Officer Matt Balint at 215-750-3845 ext. 4114.
