Pennsylvania State Police are searching for a man accused of stealing more than $3,600 worth of cigarettes from a Salisbury Township convenience store.
A man entered a Wawa gas station at 787 Route 41 on Dec. 15, went behind the counter and filled a garbage bag with $3,652.15 worth of Newport cigarettes, according to a state police report published on Jan. 19 and spokesperson James Grothey. Newport cigarettes typically retail for about $12 per pack in Pennsylvania.
The suspect is described as a male wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, a green reflective vest and a red face mask, according to the police report filed on Jan. 19. He fled the scene in a silver Ford Explorer SUV, traveling south on Route 41.
Grothey said police are still investigating, and no additional updates were available as of Tuesday morning.
