A Lehigh Valley nonprofit is asking for help in earning a $10,000 grant, and all it takes is casting a vote online.
The Wilson Area LINCS Coalition for Families and Youth is one of five agencies in the Mid-Atlantic region seeking to earn the grant, according to Armando Moritz-Chapelliquen, a borough resident and coalition board vice president.
The money is available from the financial services organization Thrivent as part of its Big Give Back program. Supporters can go to  Thrivent’s website, thrivent.com, to learn more and vote. Deadline is 11:59 p.m. Saturday.
According to the online instructions, one vote per person per email address is allowed during the voting period. While Thrivent says no products will be sold, it also says those who agree to enter their email and other information for the contest agree that the company or a Thrivent financial adviser may call them.
LINCS, which stands for Linking Individual Needs to Community Services, was formed in 2010 and is at Wilson Area Intermediate School, 2400 Firmstone St., Wilson. The coalition helps area families with essential services, including backpacks and meals.
LINCS has been seeking funding sources; a representative appeared recently before Northampton County Council explaining the group’s mission and needs. Groups like LINCS are facing mounting pressure, most recently due to the lack of a state budget.
