Vernon L. Bickel
OBITUARY
Vernon L. Bickel, 89, of Sinking Spring, passed away Monday, January 19, 2026 at home. He was the husband of the late Helen Jean (Dougherty) Bickel.
Vernon, a son of the late Daniel J. and Eva Maggie (Seifert) Bickel, was born in Lower Heidelberg Township. He is survived by two daughters, Tracey Lee, wife of Joe York, and Tara Lynn, wife of Steven Orischak; three grandchildren, Danielle, Nathan, and Olivia; and three great grandchildren, Charlotte, Frances, and Georgia. He was preceded in death by five brothers, Harold, Irvin, Stephen, Donald, Wilson, and Ralph; and a sister, Nancy.
He was very proud to serve in the US. Navy and to attend a Navel Reunion every year for the U.S.S. Bearss DD-654.
He retired after 30 years from Certified Groceries.
A service will be held at 12:30 PM, Friday, January 23rd, at Lamm & Witman Funeral Home, 243 W. Penn Ave., Wernersville. Burial will be in Forest Hills Memorial Park. Online condolences may be made at www.lammandwitman.com
