A shelter-in-place order for part of southeast Erie was lifted Thursday after police searched for a wanted hit-and-run suspect who had not yet been found.
Residents living around Eagle View Place and Vale Way in Erie were ordered to shelter in place from about 6:40 a.m. to 7:06 a.m while police searched for the suspect, according to an Erie Police Department social media post. Police lifted the order because the person of interest was likely no longer in the area, according to Erie Police Department spokesperson Amber Luttrell
Police hadn’t found the suspect as of about 7:30 a.m., Luttrell said. Erie police were asked to search for the suspect by Longmont Public Safety, as the initial incident occurred in Longmont, Luttrell said.
The Thursday morning shelter-in-place order included parts of Hickory Place and the Right Start Preschool, and didn’t extend north of Mountain View Boulevard.
Information about the person of interest or the initial incident in Longmont was not immediately available.
