American Airlines announced Thursday it will resume nonstop service between Lehigh Valley International Airport and Chicago O’Hare International Airport starting May 21, 2026.
The daily service will offer two departures from the Lehigh Valley airport at 6 a.m. and 5:18 p.m., with return flights arriving at 4:48 p.m. and 10:15 p.m.
“Strengthening our connection with ORD brings significant benefits to the Lehigh Valley, offering travelers more convenient flight options and expanded access to West Coast and international destinations,” said Thomas R. Stoudt, executive director of the Lehigh-Northampton Airport Authority.
American Airlines currently operates two daily nonstop flights from Lehigh Valley International to Charlotte Douglas International Airport and six daily roundtrips to Philadelphia International Airport aboard Landline Motorcoach.
The announcement comes as Lehigh Valley International Airport reported its highest passenger traffic volume on record last year, with 1,067,114 travelers using the airport.
“We appreciate our strong partnership with American Airlines, and their ongoing commitment to growing air service within the region,” Stoudt said.
