Pittsburgh Regional Transit warns of bus detours weekend’s heavy snow

Pittsburgh Regional Transit is preparing ahead of the weekend storm that is expected to drop several inches of snow across Western Pennsylvania.PRT said they are planning a ‘full call out’ for their resources, which includes snow plows to keep the busways and park and rides clear. Sleet cutters will be put on rails cars to keep ice and snow off of overhead lines. Pittsburgh Regional Transit said during the weekend storm, there will most likely be several buses detoured, especially in the hilly areas. If those streets are impassable, they will stick to main roads. “A good rule of thumb is that if cars can’t drive on a street, buses can’t either,” PRT said in their announcement.
