An investigation is underway after a man was rescued from the river near Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania’s Point State Park, and a $30,000 stolen harp was recovered along the riverbank on Wednesday. Pittsburgh Public Safety officials said just before 3:30 p.m., EMS, river rescue, and Department of Conservation and Natural Resources rangers responded to reports of a man in the water at Point State Park, which is the iconic park featuring a large fountain where the Monongahela, Ohio, and Allegheny Rivers meet.Officials were able to pull the man to shore, and medical care was initiated. He was taken to UPMC Mercy hospital in stable condition for further treatment. Prior to his rescue, officials said the man brought a full-sized harp, valued at $30,000, to the riverbank before “he disrobed and jumped in.”Authorities say the harp was stolen from a home in the Pittsburgh suburb of Bethel Park. Bethel Park Police are handling the burglary investigation, while rangers are pursuing charges of receiving stolen property.
