Snowstorm hits Western Pennsylvania: See conditions in Westmoreland County
THING TO FORECAST IT. IT’S ANOTHER THING TO SEE IT. AND IT IS REALLY COMING DOWN AND IT’S SHOWING ON THE ROADWAYS HERE. WE GET A REAL GOOD LOOK AROUND 30 WHERE WE ARE HERE IN IRWIN, JUST ABOVE, LIKE A BIRD’S EYE VIEW. AND THE ROADS HAVE BEEN TREATED MULTIPLE TIMES. I’VE SEEN PLOWS GO BY AND YET IT IS STILL COVERED. YOU CAN BARELY SEE ANY SORT OF PAVEMENT DOWN THERE. BUT THE GOOD NEWS IS, IS THAT TRAFFIC HAS BEEN LIGHT. THAT’S WHY WE’VE BEEN ABLE TO MAKE OUR WAY OVER TO IRWIN. WE SPENT THE FIRST PART OF OUR MORNING OVER IN HEMPFIELD TOWNSHIP, CITY OF GREENSBURG AREA. NOW WE’RE ON THE WESTERN SIDE OF WESTMORELAND COUNTY, THE WESTERN SIDE OF ROUTE 30. BUT I’LL TELL YOU THIS FOR THE REST OF THIS MORNING AND INTO THE REST OF THE DAY. AS LONG AS WE’RE HERE COVERING THIS SNOW, WE’RE NOT GOING WHERE THE WILD THINGS ARE. WE ARE STAYING ON ROUTE 30, AND WE ARE STAYING ON THE MAIN ROADS, AND WE’RE NOT TRYING TO TRAVEL MUCH BECAUSE YOU SHOULDN’T EITHER, BECAUSE THESE PLOWS ARE TRYING TO KEEP UP WITH THIS SNO
