It’s been a challenging offseason for the Philadelphia Eagles.

After winning the Super Bowl last season, they were in the driver’s seat of the NFL. It seemed as if any trade or hire they wanted to make happened, and no one could stop them.

In 2026, though, it feels as if everything has reversed. Multiple coaches they’ve attempted to hire for their open offensive coordinator job have rebuffed them, and more bad news broke on Sunday about their search for a new attacking playcaller.

The Eagles wanted a chance to speak with NFC East rival OC Klayton Adams of the Dallas Cowboys about possibly joining the Super Bowl-winning organization as their offensive leader.

Per ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, the Cowboys shut down the possible interview immediately, denying the Eagles the chance to speak with Adams and forcing them to look elsewhere.

The denial is another slap in the face to an Eagles franchise that has been reeling since being eliminated in the first round of the playoffs by the San Francisco 49ers.

Superstar wideout A.J. Brown allegedly tried to force himself off the team multiple times during the regular season. Jalen Hurts is being repeatedly criticized for his lack of production. And people are wondering if Nick Sirianni has what it takes to keep the ship afloat when things aren’t going his way.

The Eagles had one of the most stagnant offenses in 2025, following a year in which Saquon Barkley nearly broke the NFL’s all-time single-season rushing record. Following the departure of OC Kellen Moore to the New Orleans Saints to be their new head coach, Sirianni promoted Kevin Patullo, believing he had what it took to take over the offense.

Instead, Patullo’s position as OC only lasted a year, with Eagles fans openly celebrating the dismissal on social media when it occurred.

After several misses on finding their next OC, the Philly faithful will not be patient with their next hire. It can get a whole lot messier in Philadelphia before things quiet down, depending on their next move on the coaching front.
