Now that we know Mike McCarthy will be the head coach of the Pittsburgh Steelers next season, the next step is learning who will be his quarterback.

Although there is speculation that hiring the former Green Bay Packers lead man will bring Aaron Rodgers back to Pittsburgh for one more dance, another Super Bowl-winning QB recently publicly stated he’d be open to playing for the Steelers in 2026.

And it’s one of the team’s greatest rivals of the past two decades.

Joe Flacco is looking to start for a new team next season, and he joined the Bmore Sports Podcast to discuss his options going into the offseason.

When broached with the question of whether he would play for the Steelers after years of facing them in brutal battles as a Baltimore Raven, Flacco gave an honest answer.

“I play football because I love it,” said Flacco. “It is a job of mine, and if somebody is hiring me, then I think that is a pretty big deal. At the same time, I love playing football, and if people are going to give me an opportunity to do that, then yeah. I can’t let my personal feelings on an organization from an outsider get in the way of a professional decision.”

Flacco is 12-12 all-time against the Steelers, with his best performance coming in 2018 when he threw for 363 yards against the team’s iron wall defense.

“I do think that having a Pittsburgh Steelers jersey on would be a little bit more strange than having a Browns or a Bengals jersey for whatever reason,” he admitted. “I think at this point, I am open to pretty much most things if I can see an opportunity in it.”

In his 18-year career, Flacco has played for six franchises: the Ravens, the Cleveland Browns, the Cincinnati Bengals, the Denver Broncos, the New York Jets, and the Indianapolis Colts.
