Elaine Brenda Aulenbach

OBITUARY

Elaine Brenda Aulenbach passed away on January 19, 2026, at the age of 77 after a courageous battle with Pancreatic Cancer. Born in Reading, PA, she was the daughter of late Harry F. Vilardo and Emily C. (Casantini) Vilardo.

Elaine graduated from Holy Name High School, Reading, PA. She was employed by Car-Tech, Reading, PA for a number of years, rising to administrative assistant for sales management. After that, she stopped working to focus on family, raising her two children. She returned to work in sales and marketing, for various organizations, retiring as a sales manager for Welcome Wagon International, covering the greater Central PA area.

Elaine was a member of St. Leo the Great Catholic Church. She loved prayer through song and sang in her church choir for 38 years. Elaine was a positive influence on many people throughout her life as reflected in the letters, cards and notes received by the family.

She was an active member of Lancaster Liederkranz, The Hempfield Women’s Club and The Coterie Club and was involved in many of their numerous activities and groups.

For 30 years, Elaine and her husband enjoyed sailing and exploring the Chesapeake Bay and chartering sailboats in the Caribbean She loved traveling with her husband throughout the USA and many parts of the world. Elaine enjoyed playing pinochle, bunco and other games and activities with her friends and community. She enjoyed cooking and entertaining, especially for family celebrations and holidays.

Elaine is survived by and will be dearly missed by her loving husband (David Aulenbach) of 55 years; her daughter, Alecia Flynn wife of David Broscious of Catonsville, MD; her son, Benjamin Aulenbach husband of Jennifer of Centerville, VA.; and her grandson, Owen Flynn, also of Catonsville, MD. Additionally, she is survived by a sister, Jean Texter, of The Pines, MD.

A mass of Christian burial will be held at St Leo the Great Catholic Church February 10, 2026 at 11am, guest will be invited to a reception following mass. Internment will take place privately at Gethsemane Cemetery in Reading, PA.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Elaine’s memory to St Leo The Great Catholic Church or the American Cancer Society.
