Three people were found dead inside a home in Northampton in Bucks County on Monday night following a barricade situation, police said.
According to police, the situation began at around 2:15 p.m. when police responded to a well-being check at a home on Heather Road and 2nd Street Pike in Northampton Township.
There, they found an adult man armed with a knife, police said.
After several hours, police took the man into custody, police said.
SkyForce10 was over the scene and saw several law enforcement vehicles lined up along the side of the street.
At least one ambulance was also visible.
The Northampton Township Police Department was warning nearby residents to avoid the area as they investigate. But now they say there is no longer a danger to the public.
NBC10’s Johnny Archer is at the scene and a witness told him that a heavy police presence began arriving just after 2 p.m.
“Here, it’s crazy. You never expect anything like that to happen here,” said Garrett Hensel, a neighbor in the area.
The identities of the three people found dead and the man arrested have not yet been released.
