PAINESVILLE, Ohio — Lake Erie College is expanding access to mental health care through a new partnership with Family Pride of Northeast Ohio.
The program will bring in-person mental wellness services directly to campus and the surrounding community in Painesville.
By offering services on campus, the partnership aims to reduce common barriers such as transportation, scheduling challenges and stigma that can prevent individuals from seeking help.
Family Pride of Northeast Ohio is a long-established provider of behavioral health and wellness services throughout the region, serving individuals and families ages 3 and older. Its approach focuses on meeting clients where they are, making care more convenient and accessible.
Family Pride will maintain a regular presence in the college’s Garfield Building, offering professional counseling and mental wellness services up to three days per week, as needed.
College officials say the collaboration reflects Lake Erie College’s ongoing commitment to mental health, well-being, and access to care.
“We are thrilled to join Lake Erie College in this important initiative,” Angi Daugherty, Executive Director of Family Pride, said. “Our team is passionate about supporting individuals at every stage of life, and this partnership allows us to extend that care to college students, faculty, and the broader community. Together, we are building a culture that values mental wellness as a foundation for thriving.”
Appointments for on-campus services can be scheduled by calling 440-286-1553, emailing fpadmin@familyprideonline.org, or visiting familyprideonline.org.
