A Lehigh University coach will help open a superfood restaurant’s first Pennsylvania location this year in the Lehigh Valley.
Bango will open at 1042 Mill Creek Road, Suite 35, in Lower Macungie Township, according to franchisee Craig Schwartz, the head coach for men’s tennis at Lehigh University.
The online menu lists options such as wraps and bowl varieties for grain, poke and salad.
As a health-conscious athlete, Schwartz likened coaching a team to being an entrepreneur, “so I was looking to combine something and this was the perfect opportunity. And just, through a mutual friend, got connected with [Bango CEO Ryan Thorman] and the rest is history.”
Thorman said he expects the chain to open this spring or summer, depending on things like permits. He explained the right partner is more important than the location for Bango, and that he sees with Schwartz an opportunity to potentially open other Lehigh Valley locations.
“We thought it was a really good fit,” he said of working with the coach.
The restaurant will tentatively operate 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. all week, Thorman added.
Bango has other restaurants in New York, its website listed.
