READING, Pa. (WHTM) — A global company called Alpek Polyester will be shutting down a manufacturing facility in Pennsylvania, which will affect 100 employees.
According to a WARN Notice filed with the Pennsylvania Department of Labor & Industry, ALPEK Polyester USA, LLC will be closing its manufacturing facility at 4030 Pottsville Pike in Reading, Berks County.

The WARN Notice said that this manufacturing facility will be closing down on March 15, 2026 – an action that will affect 100 employees.
According to Alpek Polyester’s website, their Reading site specifically acted as a manufacturing facility for ‘rPET’ resins.
Overall, the company is a global leader in producing PTA (Terephthalic Acid), PET (Polyethylene Terephthalate) Resins and PET Recycling (rPET), Specialty Polymers; Polyester Fibers (Staple and Filament).
