ALLENTOWN, Pa. – The bitter cold temperatures continue to make things tricky on the roads.

Despite crews working non-stop, snow is still sticking on many streets in Allentown.

The cleanup continues in Allentown after Sunday’s significant snowfall.

“Our crews have been working hard they’ve been doing a fantastic job we’ve been working around the clock 24 hours, to get around to all the secondary roadways and all of our alleyways,” says Mark Shada, Director of Public Works for the City of Allentown.

Despite crews trying to keep up, people shoveling snow into the streets has caused some roadways to become impassible.

“One of the main challenges of getting around as quickly as possible is what you can see behind me here on the 700 block of Cedar Street,” says Shada.

DPW crews are continuing their work Tuesday night.

People who live nearby say the piles of snow on the streets and sidewalks, are a typical sight after a big storm.

“The roads are better, but the sidewalks, not everybody shovels. So, it’s still a little hard like if you could see the snow and the streets. Especially with the dog cause she gets scared, but it’s cold and it’s not making it any better,” says Cheyenne Crawl of Allentown.

In order to help keep snow emergency routes clear, Allentown parking authority is offering free parking at the 940 Deck on Linden Street Tuesday through Monday.
