Mining engineer Justin Emershaw, of the Atlantic Carbon Group, Hazleton, will present “Slopes, Shafts and Planes: The Mechanics of Mining.” Program will include how and why mine shafts and planes were located and how the surveyors direct the miners on where the tunnels and shafts are in the mine.
