A new family-owned restaurant is now open for business.
After serving the Erie community for 101 years, the owners of the Pittsburgh Inn decided to hang up their aprons for good.

Their timing was perfect for sisters Dora and Mirian Irias, who wanted to open a restaurant of their own after working in the industry for over a decade.
La Patrona opened its doors on Monday and the owners told reporter DeAnna Poole that they are excited to bring a taste of Central America to Erie.
“One of the things that I think is going to be a top seller will be, like, the pupusas because nobody sells them over here, sometimes we have to drive to Cleveland or Pittsburgh to have them. Well, we always make them at home because it’s a lot of work to make them,” said the Irias sisters. “They say when your stomach is full, your heart is happy.”
Pupusas are the national dish of El Salvador, and now they are available at La Patrona. The owners also recommend their ceviche and margaritas.
