ALLENTOWN, Pa. – The Allentown School District announced Wednesday that it will shift to virtual learning for the remainder of the week, citing unsafe road and sidewalk conditions throughout the city.

District officials shared the update on Facebook, noting that the safety of students, families, and staff remains the top priority following recent winter weather.

“Operating virtually allows additional time for improvement and for transportation routes to be fully assessed before resuming in-person instruction,” the district said.

Teachers will use Zoom for Virtual Learning Day instruction and will follow their regular daily schedules, the district said. Additional information and assignments will also be posted in Google Classroom.

The district advises students and families to visit the Virtual Instruction Days page on its website for more information
