What to KnowWe’re expected to see record-breaking cold in the Philadelphia region early Friday morning with temperatures in the single digits and wind chills that will make it feel below zero.The frigid conditions will continue throughout the region on Saturday. On Sunday, a coastal system will bring 1 to 3 inches of snow to the Jersey Shore and coastal Delaware. Coastal flooding will be a concern as well. Record-breaking cold temperatures will hit the Philadelphia region on Friday and Saturday followed by light snow at the Jersey Shore and coastal Delaware on Sunday.
A FIRST ALERT is in effect for the entire area until Saturday morning due to wind chills that will make temperatures feel below 10 degrees.

Overnight into early Friday morning, temperatures will hit 4 degrees in the Philadelphia area, breaking the old record of 7 degrees from 2019. Wind chills will also make it feel below 0 throughout the region.

We won’t see much of a warmup Friday with highs in the upper teens and wind chills that will make it feel like the single digits throughout the day.
The bitter cold continues on Saturday with early morning temperatures once again in the single digits before a slight warmup to the lower 20s.
The frigid temperatures will continue Sunday with highs in the mid-20s as well as a coastal system that will bring light snow to the Jersey Shore and Delaware beaches Sunday morning. The estimated snow totals for the Jersey Shore and coastal Delaware are 1 to 3 inches and the Philadelphia region could see some passing snow flurries but nothing that will stick.


In addition to the light snow on Sunday, coastal flooding will be a concern as well at the Jersey Shore.
We’ll see a slight warmup on Monday with highs in the low 30s and sunny skies. Our best chance to break the freezing mark will be Tuesday with highs in the mid-30s and mostly sunny skies.
