VisitErie has released data about last summer’s tourism in Erie County.
59% of visitors came from out of state, a 2.2% increase compared to 2024.
Most of the visitors came from Pittsburgh, Cleveland-Akron and Buffalo.
Hotel occupancy increased by 2%.
Outdoor recreation was the top draw for tourists. It attracted about 45% of visitors.
The organization spent more money on advertising this year. More than half of the $415 thousand spent came from a grant.
“This increase allowed VisitErie to be more impactful in its approach, utilizing a wider range of tactics to introduce the new brand to all target markets and experiment with new strategies,” VisitErie said.
