At its Dec.17 meeting, the BC Board of Education recognized several student-athletes for their accomplishments. Each student was presented with an Eagle pin in recognition of their achievements by Board of Education President Holly Dellenbaugh and Superintendent Jody Monroe.
The boys golf team, coached by Steve Smith and assisted by Tom Kearney, was recognized for individual postseason success.
Sophomore Jonathan Lazarek qualified for the NYSPHSAA championships and will represent Bethlehem at the state level in June.

The girls diving team, coached by Kerrianne Sanicola and Jennie Van Horne, earned recognition for multiple state-level performances.
Junior Natalie Hopper qualified for the NYSPHSAA competition and placed 10th overall at the state meet. Sophomore Ellie Danz also qualified for the NYSPHSAA championships.

The girls tennis program, coached by Tom Begley and assisted by David Clay, was recognized for individual postseason success.
Sophomore Elizabeth Amirbekian qualified for the NYSPHSAA singles tournament.

Boys cross country team member, junior Calvin Howard, coached by Andrew Rickert, was recognized for individual excellence at the highest levels of competition.
 Howard qualified for both the NYSPHSAA championships and the New York State Federation meet.

The girls cross country team, coached by Tucker Chrapowitzky and assisted by Darnell Douglas, was honored for a historic and nationally competitive season.
On Nov. 22, the team finished second at the New York State Federation Championships, earning a fourth consecutive trip to the Nike Cross Nationals in Portland, Oregon, where the team competed Dec. 4–5.
Congratulations to team members: senior Logan Kuhn, a NYSPHSAA qualifier; senior Alexandra Rivard; junior and NYSPHSAA qualifier, Anna Chrapowitzky; sophomores Tess McNamara, Sidney Graham, and NYSPHSAA qualifier Sophia Chromczak; and freshman and NYSPHSAA qualifier Sophie Syed.

The girls varsity field hockey team, coached by Dawn Austin and assisted by Kerrigan Roth, was recognized for an exceptional championship season that included both team and individual honors.
The team finished with a 16-3 overall record, earned the No. 1 Class A seed, and reached a No. 5 ranking in New York State. Bethlehem captured the program’s second sectional title — and second since 2022 — with a 1-0 victory over Guilderland.
Junior Ava Austin earned Section II All-State honors and was named to the NFHCA All-Region team. Senior Finleigh McClain scored the game-winning goal in the Section II championship game and was also recognized as a Section II All-State selection and NFHCA All-Region honoree.

The Board also recognized the district’s fall scholar-athlete teams, including girls tennis, boys soccer, girls soccer, boys volleyball, girls volleyball, boys cross country, girls cross country, girls swim and dive, and field hockey. The field hockey team earned a 9-of-11 scholar-athlete designation, the best single-season academic performance in school history.
