A water main break near Ash Street and Madison Avenue flooded the area with a large amount of water as it made its way down the Hill Section.
SCRANTON, Pa. — A large reported water main break in Scranton’s Hill Section is leaving homes and businesses in the area without running water, and those downhill of the break at risk of flooding.
The break in the area of Ash Street and Madison Avenue placed a large part of Scranton under a general alert by Pennsylvania American Water as it investigates.Â

Scranton Police say Ash Street and Myrtle Street from North Washington Avenue to Madison Avenue are closed due to the break.
Pennsylvania American Water is on scene investigating the incident.
