Members of the Columbus Day Association of Lackawanna County gathered at the Christopher Columbus statue on Courthouse Square Monday morning to lay a wreath. The statue was dedicated in 1892 by the Italian citizens of Scranton to honor the 400th anniversary of Columbus’ arrival in the New World.
