SALISBURY TWP., Pa. – A popular discount retailer is expanding its presence in the region.
Burlington Stores, Inc., a national discount retailer offering low prices on brand name merchandise for the entire family and home, is planning to open its fourth Lehigh Valley store at 9 a.m. Nov. 1 at the South Mall, 3300 Lehigh St., Salisbury Township, according to a news release.
The new store, totaling nearly 20,000 square feet, will occupy a portion of a former Stein Mart location, which closed in 2020.

“Our goal is to continue to offer area residents tremendous value on brand name merchandise for the entire family and home,” said Michael O’Sullivan, CEO of Burlington Stores.
“We’re continuing to expand our footprint across the country and are excited to be opening a new store in Allentown. We look forward to giving local customers the chance to discover big savings on a wide range of products.”
Burlington Stores, Inc., headquartered in New Jersey, is a nationally recognized off-price retailer with fiscal 2024 net sales of $10.6 billion.
The company operates more than 1,138 stores in 46 states, Washington D.C. and Puerto Rico, principally under the name Burlington Stores.
The new Lehigh Street location will bring the total number of stores in Pennsylvania to 41.
It will supplement other Lehigh Valley Burlington stores in Whitehall, Lower Nazareth and Upper Macungie townships.
Another regional store opened Sept. 19 at 1015 N. Main St. in Warrington Township, Bucks County.
The new locations feature Burlington’s reimagined store layout and new store logo, “Deals. Brands. WOW!”
These updates are part of Burlington’s broader initiative to elevate the in-store shopping experience.
All new Burlington stores now open in the refreshed format, including another area location that opened in September in Warrington Township, Bucks County, feature thoughtfully organized aisles and bold signage making it easier to navigate the store and get inspiration for the latest must-have trends.
While approximately half of the brand’s existing locations have already been converted, the remaining stores are expected to transition to the new format by the end of 2026.
Burlington stores offer an extensive selection of in-season, high-quality branded merchandise at up to 60% off other retailers’ prices.
Customers can shop fashion-focused women’s apparel, menswear, youth apparel, baby items, footwear, accessories, beauty and fragrance essentials, home decor, seasonal items, toys, gifts, coats and pet items.
The new Lehigh Street store will operate 9 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday through Sunday.
To celebrate its opening, the new Burlington store will host a ribbon-cutting celebration at 8:45 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 1.
During the celebration, Burlington will present a $5,000 donation to teachers at Hiram W. Dodd Elementary, supporting local education and the community.
Additionally, on Nov. 1 and 2, the first 100 customers, ages 18 and older, will receive a $10 Bonus Card to be used toward their purchase.
News of the forthcoming Burlington store in Salisbury Township first came in November 2024 when James Balliet, president of the South Mall’s leasing team, The James Balliet Property Group, announced that Burlington Coat Factory Warehouse Corp. had signed a 15-year lease for a 19,972-square-foot space at South Mall.
The former Stein Mart location has been subdivided, and the mall’s leasing team is in talks with several prospective tenants to fill the remaining 17,500-square-foot space – between the Ross Dress for Less and forthcoming Burlington stores, Balliet said.
