The Pittsburgh Steelers will have to decide what they want to do in the offseason, and few names are more interesting in trade talks than Jalen Ramsey, whose experience continues to make him a popular name in trade talks.

Bleacher Report’s Alex Ballentine linked the Steelers to a potential Ramsey move, with the Dallas Cowboys named as a logical landing spot if Pittsburgh decides to change its team a bit after Mike Tomlin moved on and the team hired its next head coach in Mike McCarthy.

“The Cowboys need to bolster their defense in the 2026 offseason more than anything. All three levels could need help and there’s a trade target for each level listed here. Dallas always seems to come up when Jalen Ramsey is on the move. The pairing again makes sense. The Cowboys would need to figure out his contract after a trade is completed. The Steelers can deal him and free up a ton of cap space, but Dallas has their own cap bind to get out of,” he wrote.

“The Steelers moved Ramsey to safety this season. If he wants to try and move back to corner, the Cowboys have a need at both positions. Either way, Ramsey will be able to help out the secondary even if he’s starting to slow down.”

While Ramsey remains an elite player, his contract isn’t exactly ideal for a player who is getting older and isn’t what he once was.

On the contrary, Dallas has found itself one or two defensive pieces away from having a chance to win, and the secondary remains an area of concern. Ramsey’s ability to line up at corner or safety would allow the Cowboys to address multiple needs with one move, something they should be looking for this offseason.

It’s tough to say the Cowboys would want to bring Ramsey in due to his contract, but if we’re going based off play and team needs, this is the type of move that would make a lot of sense. The Steelers likely won’t get a great return, but they can do what’s needed in the future and things should be fine.
