John George Urbanavage, Sr.
OBITUARY
John George Urbanavage, 82, of Bethlehem, passed away on Friday, January 30, 2026, at St. Luke’s Hospice House. John shared 49 years of marriage with his loving wife, Darlene (Tarole) Urbanavage, until her passing in 2019. He was the son of the late Joseph and Marie (Biskis) Urbanavage.
John was a graduate of Dieruff High School, Class of 1961. He proudly served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam Era. John worked as a Data Systems Operator at PPL until his retirement in 2000. He was also a longtime PIAA football and basketball official, retiring in 2019. John was a faithful member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church.
SURVIVORS: John will be lovingly remembered by his sons, John Urbanavage Jr. and wife Dorothy, Anthony Urbanavage, and Michael Urbanavage and wife Vanessa; his daughter, Darla Hepner and husband Brent; and his grandchildren, Brent Jr., Gina, Evan, Julia, Sofia, Enzo, Jack, and Dylan. He was predeceased by his brother, Joseph Urbanavage.
SERVICES: A graveside service with Military Honors will be held at 12:00 Noon on Thursday, February 5, 2026, at Holy Saviour Cemetery, 2575 Linden Street, Bethlehem, PA 18017. John’s arrangements have been entrusted to the Cantelmi Funeral Home, Fountain Hill. A memory tribute may be placed at www.cantelmifuneralhome.com.
