Deborah L. Steenback

OBITUARY

Deborah L. Steenback, of East Mountain, passed away Friday night at the Hospice of the Sacred Heart inpatient unit in Dunmore. Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late Russell and Mae Becking Steenback.

A 1968 graduate of Scranton Technical High School, Deb went on to build a dedicated 43 year career at the former Penn Security Bank, retiring as a loan processor. After retirement, she generously volunteered her time in the infusion department at Moses Taylor Hospital.

Deb had a deep love for animals, especially her cats, and she found joy in the simple, everyday moments she shared with them. She cherished quiet days at home, the comfort of companionship, and the chance to offer kindness wherever she could.

Left to treasure her memory are her sister-in-law, Dorothy; her dear cousin, Robert Rosko, who was like a brother to her; numerous other cousins; and her beloved feline companion, Sadie Mae. She was preceded in death by her brother, Russell. Her family and friends take comfort in knowing she is reunited with those she loved who passed before her, and that her gentle spirit will remain a blessing to all who knew her.

Family and friends may call Wednesday from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Semian Funeral Home, 704 Union St., Taylor. A funeral service will follow at 6:00 p.m., officiated by the Reverend Ginger Daubenhauser. Interment will take place at Abington Hills Cemetery at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Tracy’s Hope, 117 Foote Ave., Duryea.
