EASTON, Pa. – The need for foster families continues to grow, with more than 3,000 kids in Pennsylvania.
We feature one a month in our Adopt Lehigh Valley Kids series.
As the number of kids in need grows, the Children’s Home of Easton says the number of foster families has shrunk over the past five years.
As a result, more kids are left in group homes without families.
The Children’s Home says foster families do get a stipend, and new technology can speed up the process, which can sometimes take up to a year.
“Prospective foster parents and upload their paperwork directly to Binti, and it tells them what’s due and when it’s due, and they continue to use that after they’re approved,” said Todd Shelly of the Children’s Home.
Those interested in fostering can reach out to the Children’s Home of Easton.
