The city of Philadelphia has restocked its salt supply to prepare for the next round of winter weather.

Crews delivered 15,000 tons of salt, nearly 650 truck loads, to six salt yards across the city on Thursday.

The Streets Department says it now has nearly 30,000 tons, which is over half of the city’s total capacity.

The city’s salt order was held up earlier this week because barges carrying the salt became stuck in the icy Delaware River.
