A local family is turning their son’s fight for life into hope for others. Community members came out for “Arty’s Party,” a fundraiser supporting Grady’s Decision — a nonprofit that helps parents of babies in the NICU.
The benefit honors baby Arty, who was born critically ill and spent nearly five months in a Pittsburgh NICU fighting for his life. He now awaits a kidney transplant.
We spoke with Arty’s mom about why the family wanted to give back to the organization that supported them.
“Grady’s Decision is there to support those families. They stepped in in a big way for us, so again, we just wanted to give back to them however we could.” said Katie Sideris, Arty’s Mom
The benefit also included multiple local businesses donating baked goods for “Pies for Preemies,” all to support the cause.
