John (Jack) Bravetti

OBITUARY

John (Jack) Bravetti, 83, of Roaring Brook Twp. died unexpectedly Sept. 26th at Geisinger, CMC.

He was the son of the late Enrico( Harry) and Mary Kostzeski Bravetti of Scranton.

John, whom everyone knew as Jack, was a jack of all trades! He was a brilliant person who could fix everything and anything that was broken. Jack truly enjoyed helping anyone in need.

He attended West Scranton High School where he went onto graduate from Johnson Technical Institute in 1962. Jack was a member of local Carpenters Union 261 where he worked as a carpenter and millwright.

His biggest and proudest accomplishment was the family home that he built all by himself in 1970.

In Jack’s spare time he enjoyed spending time with family and friends, repairing anything that was broken, attending auctions, and going to antique car shows.

Jack attained his pilot’s license in 1985 and loved soaring the beautiful PA skies in his Piper 360.

He was affectionately called Poppy by his grandchildren and truly enjoyed spending time with them. Poppy will be truly missed by everyone who knew him .

John’s wife, the former Patricia Coco, preceded him in death.

Also surviving is his beloved daughter, Michelle Poplawski, his granddaughter, Deanna Poplawski, and his two great grandchildren, who he adored, Gage and Cora Collins, all of Dickson City.

The funeral will be Friday, October 24th @11am in St. Theresa of Calcutta Parish, Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary Church located at 1217 Prospect Ave. Scranton. The family will receive visitors 1 hour prior to the service at the church.

As per John’s wishes, he wanted to be interred together with his beautiful bride. Interment for John and Patricia Bravetti will take place following the funeral ceremony @the Italian-American Ceremony, Cemetery Ave. in Minooka.
