A Lehigh Valley crafts market has closed its retail operations as it contends with what it said was “serious financial hardship.”
The Hive, which has locations at 27 E. Belvidere St. in Nazareth and Promenade Saucon Valley in Upper Saucon Township, announced the decision Monday evening, blaming a “cash flow crisis” and acknowledging delayed payments to vendors.
The market said it is working with legal and financial professionals to address outstanding balances, and that it will communicate directly with affected vendors for next steps like inventory pickup.
“We understand the frustration, fear, and anger many vendors are feeling,” the announcement said. “They deserve clarity and a path forward.”
The Hive added, “We are deeply grateful to the community, customers, and small businesses who have supported The Hive. This outcome is heartbreaking, and we are committed to handling this transition with as much transparency and respect as possible. Thank you for your patience and understanding during this extremely difficult time.
The business couldn’t immediately be reached for comment on Tuesday through phone, email or social media.
The Nazareth location opened in 2023 while the Promenade one opened in April after it relocated from the Allentown ArtsWalk.
