Freezing rain could cause slippery conditions Tuesday night in the Lehigh Valley.

The region, as well as neighboring Berks, Carbon and Monroe counties, will be under a winter weather advisory from 6 p.m. until midnight, according to the National Weather Service.

There is a slight chance of freezing rain, according to the weather service forecast, which could cause a light glaze of ice to accumulate on surfaces.

Very slippery sidewalks, roads and bridges are possible, and residents should be careful walking on stairs, sidewalks or driveways, forecasters said. Those surfaces could be icy and could cause falls or injuries.

The rest of the week should be clear with temperatures above freezing. Forecasters are monitoring another system that could impact the area Sunday.
