PITTSBURGH, PA — A Pittsburgh radio station has been named the nation’s best by the National Association of Broadcasters.
Sports talk 93.7 The Fan (KDKA-FM) won a prestigious Marconi Award as the best large-market station in the country Tuesday night at a ceremony at the Edison Ballroom in New York City.
Established in 1989 and named after inventor and Nobel Prize winner Guglielmo Marconi, the awards recognize stations and individuals for their excellence and performance in radio.
The Fan is the flagship station of the Pittsburgh Pirates and University of Pittsburgh football and basketball teams.
The talk station’s hosts provide commentary on local and national sports, with hosts offering their takes on various games and stories.
