Parts of the Lehigh Valley could see snow overnight Friday into Saturday, ahead of a warm up in temperatures.
If snow does fall it’ll be minor, with accumulations of a half inch or less, according to the National Weather Service in Mount Holly, New Jersey. Still, with temperatures below freezing overnight, even light accumulations could result in slippery conditions on untreated surfaces, forecasters warned.
The snow should be out of the area by sunrise Saturday, the weather service said.
Happy Friday all! A chilly day is on tap with highs in the low-mid 30s but a warm up is on the way for the weekend and into next week. A chance for snow tonight for the northern areas but only minor accumulations are expected. #NJwx #PAwx #DEwx #MDwx pic.twitter.com/w9atlN5NKb

Overnight temperatures are expected to be in the 20s, with wind chills that will make it feel like the teens or single digits.
Temperatures then are supposed to trend closer to normal this weekend, before heading above normal next week, forecasters said.
“Change is on the horizon,” they said. Temperatures will be in the 40s and even the 50s in some areas, and dewpoints will begin to rise above freezing, “which is anticipated to result in more substantial melting of the stubborn snowpack across the region.”
A southern storm could impact the region Sunday into Monday; while models suggest it will move south, if it does come farther north it could bring some snow, forecasters said.
Rain is possible Wednesday into Thursday, with a potential for an icy mix in the Poconos.
