WHITEHALL TWP., Pa. – Temperatures are starting to tumble as the Fall season makes itself comfortable in the Lehigh Valley.

A local business is keeping warm and making cozy creations with its chunky knit blanket workshops.

69 News Reporter Cierra Genelle visited Applejack’s Country Store in Whitehall Township Wednesday morning. Cierra was walked through the process from start to finish.

The popular class is hosted by Twisted Threads.

Owner Lisa Andrejack said the country store, which handmakes cabinets, opened in the Whitehall area in 2018.  Twisted Threads owner Stephanie Madara approached Andrejack with the idea of a blanket workshop about a year ago, to make “cozy blankets in our cozy store.”

Madera said making the blankets is easy. People can come into the workshop with no experience and leave with a beautiful blanket.

Madara said it takes about three hours to make a blanket. The process is repetitive, so people can do it as they are having a conversation, she said.

“This is something that anybody can do,” Andrejack said.

Andrejack said she works with groups in the Lehigh Valley to do fundraisers.

The next workshop is on Nov. 1.
