No shelter: A man sleeping on the front porch of a building in the 300 block of South Fourth Street had to find somewhere else to go, Monday. Police said the owner needed him removed, so they told the man he needed to leave and not return. He started gathering his belongings to go, but officers said he had a lot of belongings. They circled back later to make sure he’d moved on and said he was gone.

Robbery try alleged: A juvenile in the 400 block of South Sixth Street said a man walked up to him and demanded his money, Monday. He alleged the man “held his hand behind his back, possibly like he had a gun.” The juvenile said he fled the area and called the police, but pointed out a house the alleged suspect had come from. Police said they located a man who matched the description the juvenile had given them but he “denied speaking to anyone (and said) he was inside asleep.”

Acting out: Police were told a man in the 600 block of Slack Street was “breaking stuff in his apartment,” Monday. They said the man told them he was OK and “was just getting ready to leave.”

Payback: A South Fifth Street resident told police a female known to him “changed all the information on his CashApp card, making it impossible for him to access his money that is on the card,” Monday.

Booked: Marlin E. Hartman, 41, 329 Slack St., Steubenville, warrant for felonious assault, Monday.

Served: Jonaka Wallace, no age or address listed, summons from Allegheny County, Pa., Monday.

Summons issued: Damir Kubat, 53, Ballwin, Mo., petit theft, Monday. Police said Kubat taped the barcode from an $18 dumbbell set onto the label for one worth $109, then scanned it, Monday.

Cited: Amber Dahlem, 41, 2614 Commercial Ave., Mingo Junction, red light violation after a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of Wells Street and state Route 7, Tuesday. Both drivers claimed they had the right of way, but a witness told police the other motorist had a green light. No injuries were reported.

Others cited: Eliott D. Yozwiak, 29. 7089 Oakmont Ave., Steubenville, speeding; Georgia R. Amato, 20, 1271 Hillcrest Road, Wellsville, red light violation; Lucca Morelli, 20, 174 county Road 28, assured clear distance ahead.

Parking problems: Someone complained about two vehicles parked in the 1200 block of Wellesley Avenue for an extended period of time, Monday. One of the vehicles, a silver Honda Pilot, had Florida plates that were expired and didn’t match and weren’t assigned to the vehicle they were on, so it was towed. The other, a silver Mercury Mariner, was registered to a local owner and had valid plates. Also, three vehicles left in the 400 block of Maxwell Avenue for an extended period were towed. Police said two vehicles had expired plates and the third had no registration. Citations for parking violations were issued for all five vehicles.
