Dickson City residents voiced concerns over proposed data centers, prompting the borough council to amend zoning laws to limit centers to light industrial zones.
DICKSON CITY, Pa. — Dickson City is the latest municipality in our area to address data center development.
A public hearing on the issue brought about 300 people to the Dickson City Civic Center. Residents voiced concerns about the four data center buildings proposed for the borough.
After public comments, the borough council voted to amend its zoning ordinance and restrict data centers to light industrial zones. State law prohibits any municipality from excluding data center development outright.Â
