READING, Pa. – Overtime basketball in the BCIAA boys final between Berks Catholic and Reading – it doesn’t get much better than this.

This one would go back-and-forth as the Saints led 19-16 after the first eight minutes only to see the Red Knights take a 26-24 advantage into halftime.

In the fourth, Kingston McKoy knocks down the three he had a game high 29 – including five from beyond the arc.

This instant classic would go to overtime with the score tied at 54-all. Senior Brady Altimar with the big three-point field goal from the corner and Berks Catholic goes on to win, 62-57.

“”My shot was feeling good Wednesday night,” Altimar said. “I missed the first two here, but my teammates kept telling me to shoot it. Shoot it with confidence, so I got in the corner. I knew I was open. I put it up and it was all net, it feels so great. I said it before that. We lost in the semis, three years in a row. So to overcome that, finally get to the finals. Against a really tough Reading team. It just means a lot to beat them. We played our best all year – it feels so great.”

The Saints win their first county title since 2018.
