Erie Boulevard East Reopened After Motor Vehicle Accident

10/22; 4 p.m.—A man was struck by a utility van while crossing Erie Boulevard East on Wednesday morning.

The Rome Police Department reported that the incident occurred around 10:50 a.m. in the 200 block.

The 31-year-old pedestrian received treatment from Rome Fire Department and AmCare Ambulance personnel before being transported by LifeNet to a local hospital.

The extent of his injuries is currently unknown.

The driver of the van was not injured.

The Rome Police Accident Reconstruction Unit is investigating the situation.

ROME, N.Y. — Erie Boulevard East in Rome has reopened following a closure due to a car crash.

According to the Rome Police Department, the road was closed from South James Street to the Rt. 365 ramp. Both eastbound and westbound lanes were affected.
