CATASAUQUA, Pa. – We’re learning more about a separate incident involving a student with a gun at a local school.
On Tuesday, police responded to Innovative Arts Academy in Catasauqua for a student who brought a gun into school.
In a message to families, the school’s CEO said the gun was discovered when a vape sensor was activated, prompting an evacuation of students from a pep rally in the gym.
Police said the staff seized the gun, then handed it over to officers.
On Wednesday, a message on the school’s website told students to learn from home because of a “teacher shortage.”
It’s not clear if it’s related to Tuesday’s incident.
