LANCASTER COUNTY, Pa. (WHP) — An Amtrak employee has died after he was hit by a train Monday.
Jeremy Charles, 39, of Holtwood, Pennsylvania, was working with a crew when he was struck around Greenfield Road in East Lampeter Township, according to the Lancaster County Coroner’s Office.
The coroner’s office said investigators arrived to find Charles near the tracks, and he was pronounced dead.
He was taken to the Lancaster County Forensic Center, the coroner said, and an autopsy will be scheduled.
Amtrak said all service is suspended on the Keystone service route for the rest of Monday while the incident remains under investigation.
