OBITUARY
Mary Lou Notari, a resident of Scranton, died Monday evening in Geisinger CMC. She was the widow of the late Dr. Edward Notari, MD, who died in 1986. Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late George and Mary Otto Langan. She was a member of St. Teresa of Calcutta Parish. She attended St. Mary of Mount Carmel School and graduated from Dunmore High School. Prior to her marriage, she was employed by PP&L and Prudential Insurance Co. Mary Lou was deeply involved in charitable organizations and groups that reflected her faith such as the Sacred Heart League of Marywood and the St. Raphael Society. Mary Lou gave back to the community by volunteering at many organizations including VNA Hospice for 20 years, St. Francis Kitchen, Little Sisters of The Poor and St. Mary’s Villa. She was also a devotee of St. Ann’s Basilica.
Surviving are her children; Nancy Krake (Raymond), her caretaker, Scranton, Edward Notari (Deborah), Germantown, MD, John Notari (Kathleen), Winter Park, FL., Joseph Notari (Megan), Wellesley, MA, grandchildren; Jacqueline, Edward, Allison, Julianna, Emma, and Katherine Rose. She was also preceded in death by her son Edward Notari, Jr., and her siblings; Helen Ewasko, George Langan, Jr., Russell Langan, Irene Langan, Rose Langan, Alice Lory and Agatha Calkins and her nephew John Ewasko.

The funeral will be Saturday with a Mass of Chrisitan Burial at 10 AM in Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary Church, St. Teresa of Calcutta Parish, 1217 Prospect Ave., to be celebrated by Rev. Jonathan Kuhar, Pastor. Inurnment Italian-American Cemetery, Minooka Section. Friends may call Saturday at the church from 9 to 10 AM.
