READING, Pa. – Albright College men’s basketball opens postseason play Wednesday at home against York College.
The Lions earned the two-seed in the MAC Commonwealth tournament and are riding a program-best 12-game win streak.
Their scoring has consistently improved throughout the season, averaging 81 points per game — which ranks third in the conference.
Albright’s offense begins with senior guard Qadir Mitchell, one of four players averaging double-digit points.
On defense, seniors Chase McWhite and Phanique Dupree both rank in the top five in rebounds per game.
Albright took both meetings against York in the regular season and enters tonight 19–6 overall.
“I think our game plan is going to remain the same” senior guard Qadir Mitchell said.
“I feel like tonight’s game is going to, the winner is going to be who plays harder. York plays really hard, we play really hard. Obviously, I would feel like we’re the more talented team, but everybody will say that about their team. And I just think we just got to play hard and we’ll be fine.”
“Really talented group, play really hard” added senior guard Jeremiah Stanton.
“They have one of the best players in the conference, so have to be ready for them. It’s going to be a good game, but I feel like we are the more talented team. So as long as we can control our effort, energy and attitude, like, we’ll be fine.”
Tip-off is at 7:00 at the Bollman Center.
