James “Jim” Frederick Fry

OBITUARY

James “Jim” Frederick Fry, 74, of Exeter Township, passed away on February 20, 2026, at his residence. Born in Reading, PA on January 10, 1952, he was a son to the late Frederick W. Fry and Constance (Bloomfield) Fry.

Jim was a 1969 graduate of Twin Valley High School and attended Williamsport Area Community College. He worked as a printer and also in electrical supply sales. Most recently, he worked for Colonial Electric for more than 15 years, serving as a warehouse manager and sales professional in customer service before retiring in 2020.

Jim was a life-long member of St. Mary’s Episcopal Church, serving on the Vestry for many years. He was an avid golfer and also enjoyed bowling, proudly achieving a couple of 300 games and 700 series. He liked watching Flyers hockey, Phillies baseball, and looked forward to regularly playing cards with his friends. Above all, he was known as a kind and genuinely nice man. That is how many will remember him.

Jim is survived by his sister, Kathy Ann Smith, and her husband Joseph Smith, of Philadelphia.

A viewing will be held at Auman’s Inc., 390 W. Neversink Rd., Reading, PA 19606, on February 28, 2026, from 9:30 am to 10:30 am. A prayer service will promptly commence in the funeral home at 10:30 am. Graveside committal will immediately follow at Laureldale Cemetery, 4631 Pottsville Pike, Reading, PA 19605.
