Closure to impact 63 workers at FedEx’s Pittston Twp. facility – Hazleton Standard Speaker

FedEx will close its facility on Sathers Drive in early May, impacting 63 employees, company officials said.

A Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification will be issued Friday, however team members were notified several months ago, and certain employees will be offered other roles within the company, FedEx officials said.

Customers who previously used the Pittston Twp. location to drop off packages may visit the FedEx Office at 940 Schechter Drive in Wilkes-Barre Twp., officials said.

The closure of the Pittston Twp. facility ties into the company’s Network 2.0 multi-year network transformation, announced in 2022, to improve the pickup, transport, and delivery of packages in the United States and Canada, company officials said.
