Festival production: Scranton Shakespeare Festival’s production of Sean O’Casey’s Irish masterpiece “Juno and the Paycock,” March 5-8, the Shakes Space at the Marketplace at Steamtown. The tragicomic play, set in a Dublin tenement during the Irish Civil War of 1922 and the second of O’Casey’s Dublin Trilogy, reflects on the resilience of a mother in a nation torn apart by war. Polar plunge: Special Olympics Pennsylvania Northeast Polar Plunge will be held Saturday at Montage Mountain Resorts; check-in and in-person registration, noon, followed by opening ceremonies at 2 p.m., which rolls into the first wave of plunging. Anyone can attend as a plunge spectator, free of charge, and enjoy activities at Plunge Town from noon-4 p.m. These activities include Plunge Day music by DJ Dan NEPA, giveaways, yard game entertainment, fun competitions and “Too Chicken to Plunge” activities complete with yellow feather boas, dancing the chicken dance and watching the plungers. St. Joseph’s Day breakfast: Women’s Society of St. Joseph Melkite Catholic Church on North St. Frances Cabrini Avenue is sponsoring its annual St. Joseph Day Breakfast on March 22 from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Eat in or take out. Tickets, at $12/adults and $6/age 6-10, includes eggs, scratch pancakes, home fries, olives, HoneyBaked Ham, breads, juice and coffee.Takeouts, $10/$6, with no beverages.
