In 2026, Pennsylvania Business Central reached a milestone few publications achieve — 35 years of unwavering commitment to the business community of Central Pennsylvania. This anniversary is not simply a reflection of longevity. It is a testament to the strength, resilience and entrepreneurial spirit of the region we proudly serve. For more than three decades, we have had the privilege of documenting the deals, decisions and leadership that continue to shape our economic landscape. We have not just reported on business — we have witnessed its evolution, its challenges and its triumphs.
The story began in 1991, when State College entrepreneur Greg Woodman recognized a need. Central Pennsylvania’s business leaders deserved a platform — a publication dedicated to telling their stories, recognizing their achievements and connecting a growing regional economy. What began as a bold vision serving Centre County and surrounding communities quickly became something far greater: a trusted voice for decision- makers, innovators and risk-takers across the region.
Through changes in ownership, including King Printing and later Sample News Group in 2007, the mission remained clear. That mission endures today. Now serving 23 counties, Pennsylvania Business Central stands as the region’s definitive B2B publication. The launch of Women in Business in 2016 amplified the voices of female leaders who continue to transform our economy. The introduction of Senior Living in 2022 recognized the growing industries supporting one of our most important and expanding populations.
Each month, we deliver critical business intelligence, leadership profiles and regional insight to more than 35,000 readers. Our reach extends beyond Pennsylvania into key markets in Ohio, West Virginia and southern New York, connecting business leaders across state lines and strengthening the economic fabric of our broader region.
This signature Top 100 Organizations edition represents the very core of our mission. Our success is inseparable from the success of the companies and organizations we honor — those who have trusted us to share their stories, supported our publication and helped define what makes Central Pennsylvania’s business community exceptional.
This July, we will publish our official 35th Anniversary Edition — a moment to reflect, but more importantly, a moment to look ahead. Because the future of Central Pennsylvania business is still being written.
And Pennsylvania Business Central will be there — as it has been for 35 years — to tell the story.
